I'm published too!

I just found out today that a book that I did some work on is being published. I didn't want to have to show Marty up, but here's the first look at it.

That's right. It's a paper airplane book. I designed, folded, and test flew most of the planes in that book. I have battle scars to prove it. Multiple cuts on my hands and a near lost eye (one of the planes was named the "Head Hunter" for a reason. Normally I would encourage every one to go out and buy it, but it's not out yet and the company that produced it ripped off the company that I used to work for, so don't buy it.

Happy Next Year!!!

I haven't written anything for awhile (as if the time stamp on the posts didn't tell you that). Semester's almost over, getting a little busy with finals and final projects. Anyway, this morning I had a random thought while taking out the garbage: Shouldn't our birthdays really be our "Happy New Year", and the New Year be more like "Happy Next Year"? Because technically a "New Year" for us would be from day we were born and moving from 2007 to 2008 would only be "Next Year". I hope that makes sense. Because it does to me. So everyone have a HAPPY NEXT YEAR!!!

P.S. I've been reading Mr. Davis' book "Shadows of Nothing", and it's really really good. It usually takes me about a month to two months to read a book of that length, but I'm almost done and I've only had it for three days. I suggest you get a copy, check out amazon.com or bn.com. He wrote it under the name M. Hal Davis. Highly recommended.

Wish List

Just thought that if anyone wanted to they could take a look at my Christmas wish list and get me whatever they wanted to from the list. So here goes:
  1. iPhone
  2. The Millionaire Next Door (book, not my neighbor)
  3. Christmas out of the month of November, well at least before Thanksgiving
  4. A diploma
  5. ALL THE LAKES TO FREEZE!!!

Not much, I want the last three things more than anything. So anyone that can help me out with that it would be great.

Come on ICE!

It's that time of year again. Time for the crazies to get out on the frozen lakes and catch fish. This is the typical scene on a typical day ice fishing.
If you don't have one of these, you're not going to have a good time ice fishing. Pretty much you'll freeze your butt off and if your lucky catch a few fish. It helps soooooooo much to know whether or not you're actually above fish or not. Thank goodness for fish finders!

Wire bobbers are a lifesaver too. They help you see the light bites that you otherwise might not feel because fish don't always attack the bait like they do when the lake's not frozen.

Another shot of a beautiful day on the ice.

Thanksgiving's done...CHRISTMAS TIME!!!

Hope every one had a great Thanksgiving. I know I did. But if you know me I don't celebrate Christmas until after Thanksgiving, but when I do I celebrate Christmas. So that's right boys and girls, it's Christmas time. I hope every one has a good Christmas season and that every one remembers what Christmas is all about...THE PRESENTS!!! Just kidding, anyway, have a good one every one.

New Web Site

As part of a class that I have I have to construct a web site. It's a very basic web site but I thought it would be fun to take it live. It's not 100% done, so some of the links won't work, but check it out and if there's a typo or something doesn't look right let me know. It's hard to make sure that I'm spelling everything right and that the sentences flow when I'm typing it on notepad. Anyway the site is http://kristopher.lightfoot.angelfire.com/Default.htm. It's on a free site so you'll have to put up with the ads. Enjoy.

Appendix

Just wanted to add an appendix to the post a few weeks ago about text book pet peeves. Appendices in text books, what's the point? If it's important enough to put it in the book just put it in the corresponding chapter. Not too hard.

PSOL, see Please See Other Line

So I just got done taking an open book test. Which I'm grateful that it was open book, but it made me realize another thing that doesn't make sense to me. Why is it that when I look up something like UAT in the index that it can't just simply give me the page number right there? Why is it that it has to waste my time, not to mention the ink, to print "UAT, see User acceptance testing" and refer me somewhere else? Sometimes it's on the line above or below the acronym that I was looking up. When the test is 60 mins. long and there's 50 questions I don't have time to look in two places for the page number.

If You're Happy and You Know It...

There's a song that I don't understand, "If You're Happy and You Know It". "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands. If you're happy and you know it then your face will surely show it. If you're happy and you know it clap your hands". Okay, why is that it tells you to clap your hands if your happy but then it goes on to say that "your face will surely show it"? If my face is already showing it, then why do I need to clap my hands. I DON'T HAVE TO!!! I rest my case.

Random Thought

Random thought I just had: Why do we always say, "get your shoes and socks on"? Shouldn't it be said in the order that we put them on? Shouldn't it be get your socks and shoes on. You can't very well put your shoes and then your socks on. Then again, I may be the only one that has been told and tells his kids to, "get your shoes and socks on".
